Hello to our Athletic Community,
Round 2 saw fewer entries but the competition stayed fierce. Let’s take a look at the highlights and the notable performances.
Performance Overview
Old Scotch athletes showcased their prowess at both Knox and Doncaster tracks. Though we secured second place in our division, the spirit and improvement in individual performances are worthy of applause. Whittlesea emerges as a strong contender early on, and our athletes are geared up for the challenge.
Individual Highlights
- Gabby King and Jayden Millie improved their 400m timings from the previous week.
- James Rentschler sprinted one of his best 100m, while Hando impressed with his hammer throw.
- The trio Ash, Lachie, and Tom Russell accumulated significant points for the team.
- Our mixed 4 x 100m relay team and two high jumpers brought excitement to the Knox track.
Scoring Achievements
- Rob Schwerkolt stood out by gaining the most individual points in an event with 472 points for his 1500m, and Gabby closely followed with 441 points. Achieving over 400 points in an event is marked as first-class honors standard.
Looking Ahead
- PowerPlay Consideration: If most athletes commit to compete in several events next Saturday, we might use our PowerPlay. With talented schoolboys on board, it’s bound to be an intriguing day.
- APS Finals Congrats: Captain Alex Shears-Jones and his Scotch team performed outstandingly, securing second place against Wesley. We anticipate seeing many from this gifted team continue with Old Scotch.
